El Salvador's Ministerio de Hacienda (DGII) published the Normativa de Cumplimiento de los Documentos Tributarios Electronicos V2.0 (NCDTE 2.0) and the Manual Tecnologico para la Integracion del Sistema de Transmision V2.0 (MTIST 2.0) in May 2026, updating the DTE electronic invoicing clearance system. Key changes include a new UUID v4 generation code standard, new Return and Special Operations fiscal events, and additional DTE validation rules. Users of the free Hacienda invoicing system have the changes enabled in production; operators using their own transmission systems may continue with version 1.2 until the mandatory migration deadline of 1 December 2026.
