Senegal's Direction Generale des Impots et des Domaines (DGID) issued a communique announcing that, from 1 September 2026, taxpayers under the Direction des Grandes Entreprises (large-taxpayer unit) must use the new SENTAX platform (replacing ETAX) for all tax declarations and payments, including VAT; paper-format declarations are no longer accepted by DGE services.
What changed in detail
Senegal’s Direction générale des Impôts et des Domaines (DGID) issued a communiqué dated 27 August 2026 announcing that the new SENTAX platform replaces the ETAX application for the electronic declaration and electronic payment of taxes and duties.
It is addressed to taxpayers administered by the Direction des Grandes Entreprises (DGE), Senegal’s large-taxpayer unit. From 1 September 2026, use of SENTAX is mandatory for all declarations and all payments, and declarations in paper format are no longer accepted by DGE services.
Through SENTAX, taxpayers can file their tax declarations online, pay their taxes and duties electronically, transmit and consult tax documents securely, and track the handling of their requests and administrative procedures in real time. The platform is at https://sentax.dgid.sn.
DGID asks the taxpayers concerned to take, from now, all the steps needed to activate their account and get to grips with the tool, and says it has put a support arrangement in place for the transition; technical assistance is at [email protected].
The communiqué sets out no exceptions, no phased groups and no transitional filing window, and it does not distinguish between tax types: the obligation is expressed as covering toutes les déclarations et tous les paiements.
What it means
The date has already passed, so this is not a change to plan for — it is one to confirm you made. A DGE taxpayer that filed on paper in September filed into a channel the administration has said it no longer accepts.
Two details repay a careful reading. The obligation is drafted across all declarations and all payments with no carve-out by tax type, so VAT sits inside it alongside everything else. And ETAX is described as replaced, not as being wound down in stages — the communiqué names no dual-running period, which means credentials, delegations to agents and any machine integration built against ETAX have to be re-established on SENTAX rather than carried over.
The practical risk is account activation rather than filing mechanics. DGID asked for activation dès maintenant; anyone who left it is meeting the platform for the first time at a deadline.
Proof
