What is an Armenian TIN?
The TIN (ՀՎՀՀ, հարկ վճարողի հաշվառման համար) is Armenia’s 8-digit taxpayer identification number, assigned by the State Revenue Committee — for most companies through the State Register when they are registered, and for banks through the Central Bank. It is a 7-digit serial number plus a check digit, for example 02502212 for Ameriabank. A VAT payer’s number adds “/1”.

- Input: Eight digits; spaces and hyphens are fine, and a “/1” VAT suffix is removed.
- Leading zeros: Keep them: spreadsheets often turn 02502212 into 2502212.
- Status: A found TIN shows its register status in Armenian. Liquidated taxpayers are still found, so read the status, not just the result.
- Not VAT status: The checker does not show whether the taxpayer is registered for VAT.
How to check an Armenian TIN
- 1 Find the TIN on the supplier’s tax invoice — VAT payers also show it with “/1”.
- 2 Enter the 8 digits above. The checker looks the TIN up in the State Revenue Committee’s register.
- 3 Check that the status is “Գործող” (active) and that the name (shown in full after sign-up) matches your supplier.

How many digits is an Armenian TIN?
Eight digits: a 7-digit serial number and a check digit, with no letters or separators. Many TINs start with 0, so keep the leading zeros.
What is the Armenian VAT number format?
A VAT payer’s number is its TIN followed by “/1” — for example 02502212/1. Tax invoices show both the TIN and the VAT payer number.
Is the TIN the same as the company registration number?
No. The State Register gives a company a separate registration number — Ucom, for example, has TIN 00024873 and registration number 286.120.1110041.
Does the Armenian TIN have a check digit?
Yes, the eighth digit. The State Revenue Committee has not published the formula, so only a register lookup confirms a TIN.
Does a found TIN mean the company is active or registered for VAT?
No. Liquidated and deregistered taxpayers keep their TIN in the register, so read the status: “Գործող” means active. Our checker does not show VAT status.
Does a TIN change after a merger or a change of legal form?
A company keeps its TIN when it changes its legal form. A merger into a new company or a division produces new TINs.
