What is a Jersey registration number?
A Jersey registration number is the number the Jersey Financial Services Commission’s registrar allocates to a company, partnership, foundation or business name on its registers. It is a plain sequential number — for example 107710 for Glencore plc. It is not a tax number: Jersey’s GST number and TIN are separate.
Jersey registration number format
Sequential digits allocated by the JFSC registrar.
(1–6 digits)
Example: 107710 (Glencore plc, as given in its own stock-exchange announcements and listed as an active public company in the JFSC Registry).
- Input: Digits only, without leading zeros or a JE prefix. Older business names use RBN plus digits.
- No check digit: The numbers run in sequence, so only the register can confirm one.
- One sequence per register: Each register has its own sequence and a few old company numbers were issued twice, so one number can belong to several entities. Older, low numbers can currently return a different entity or none. Check that the type and name match.
- Status: A found number shows its JFSC status; dissolved entities are still found.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Jersey registration number?
The number the registrar of the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) allocates to a company when it is registered — its “registered number”. Limited partnerships, LLPs, foundations, LLCs and business names get numbers on their own JFSC registers.
Why can one number match more than one entity?
Each JFSC register numbers its entities separately, and some old company numbers were issued twice, so one number can belong to several entities. Number 67, for example, is held by Jersey Electricity plc, by an older dissolved company, and by a foundation, an LLP, a fund and two partnerships. Always check that the name and type returned match the business you expect.
Is the registration number the same as the Jersey GST number?
No. The GST registration number is a 7-digit number issued by Revenue Jersey, and GST-registered businesses must show it on their invoices. Revenue Jersey does not publish a list of GST-registered businesses.
What is the Jersey TIN?
A 10-digit number Revenue Jersey uses to identify taxpayers, such as 100-100-1000. Companies incorporated under Jersey law receive one automatically on registration. There is no online TIN-verification tool for Jersey.
Does a Jersey company have to show its registration number on invoices?
No. Jersey company law requires the company’s name on its letters, invoices and order forms, and its registered office address on letters and order forms, but not the registered number.
Does a valid number mean the company is still trading?
No. Dissolved and struck-off entities stay on the register, so read the status — such as Active or Inactive (Dissolved) — as well as the result.
